Opening March 28, 2026
The World As It Is, a new solo show by artist Hilary Schenker.
In The World As It Is, Schenker assembles a collection of paintings inspired by everyday moments of transcendence. Schenker’s artistic process is rooted in daily life in the city. She’s inspired by quiet moments that connect us with nature and what it means to be human in our modern era. Everything from sunsets above the Beltway, to rainbows reflected in traffic barrels, to the streaky reflections of taillights on wet streets become the subjects for an exploration of color and movement.
Opening reception: March 28, 6:30-9 pm
First Fridays open hours: April 3, 6-8pm
Closing reception: April 12, 4-6pm
