PAST EXHIBITION

Paper: Material and Process | October 21 - December 3, 2017
Featuring the work of Kristina King and Jim Maio.
Picture
Kristina King and Jim Maio explore the art of paper through opposite techniques. Each of their practices engage them in an unfolding dialogue with the medium. King builds her textured and saturated surfaces from traditional hand paper making processes: layering, bonding, casting and blow outs. Maio deconstructs his layered textures from a process of decollate: building and tearing away, revealing hidden parts of paper covered and uncovered. Both arrive at an elegant and minimal expressionism.
